I would get multiple crashes from Borderlands 3, then play half an hour of Half Dead 2, then Borderlands 3 wouldn't crash again for a week), but this workaround seems to have stopped functioning today. It appears that, until recently, playing some games where it never crashed would prevent later crashes from previously crash-ridden games (e.g. When my computer has crashed this way and I boot up and start the same game again, I generally have at most 20 minutes before it crashes in the same way again. When it happens, nothing responds at all and there is no indication that even the power button responds to a simple press - the only recourse I have found to work is to do a hard shutoff (hold the power button for 4 seconds, cutting power). As a somewhat weirder example it happens with Half Dead 1, but never with Half Dead 2. For example lately it has been happening with Borderlands 3, but it has never happened with Minecraft. It always happens while I'm playing a video game, but not with every video game. This problem has been happening for several years now sporadically. Sometimes my screens go black but the sound keeps playing and the keyboard and mouse are powered but not responsive.
